This mixer is small, convenient, and has the ten-power speed, according to the manufacturer, to mix up to four loaves of bread at once, nine dozen cookies, or seven pounds of mashed potatoes. Originally, this mixer comes with a regular mixing head for baking and blending in general.
Also included is the kneading hook for when making bread and also the wire whip for egg whites or whipped cream.
In my kitchen, this mixer was my very first stand mixer.
From what I discovered, there were a lot of very well designed and thought-out aspects to this mixer.
One of the first things that I liked about this mixer was the convenient tilt-head. When I was trying to blend in flour or something messy, it was nice to have more room to work with- instead of the other mixers which have a bowl that comes down, the head doesn’t go up.
Frequently there’s just not enough room to fit the item you’re trying to blend in into the bowl with the little bit of space provided. It can usually be quite messy and frankly I do not like a messy kitchen.
Another good thing about the Artisan KitchenAid mixer is that it has a locking head to keep it from bouncing and such on the tougher dough.
If the head bounces, like it does on some other mixers, then how do you plan on mixing the dough thoroughly? With that strategy, all you’re going to end up with is a lightly mixed mess… and no one likes that. This Kitchen Aid Stand Mixer is a real work horse!
This mixer’s ten-speed controls are capable of mixing nearly anything you can think of. Any faster than the speeds which are offered on the mixer and the mixer might take off like a plane. The lowest speed is just right for the mixes which are very liquid-based or those which can spill out onto the counter easily.
My primary negative comment about this mixer is that, for some jobs, it’s just not large enough. It says that you can mix nine dozen cookies- but not if you want anything in those cookies. For about 4 dozen chocolate chip cookies, the mixer really has to work.
Even when it can mix all the ingredients, by the time you are done filling up the bowl, the mix is really high on the sides and it can spill easily. So I always shoot for smaller recipes or make the larger ones in two batches.
Overall, this is a great mixer for everyday chefs who are just starting out or even for those who have many years of experience under their apron but are looking to purchase a basic stand mixer.
This Artisan KitchenAid mixer is perfect for nearly any occasion and for any baker or chef, in the family kitchen!
Pick the color that is right for you and then enjoy your new KitchenAid Stand Mixer.

Now hear this…I am totally in love with my Kitchen Aid 5 Speed Classic Plus Hand Mixer. It is beautiful, handy and sexy sleek! I have the pure white color which matches perfectly with my kitchen. Let me tell you a little about our love story.
One Christmas, my grandma, who is my kitchen mentor, surprised me with my Kitchen Aid 5 Speed Classic Plus Hand Mixer. Up until that point I had been using my handy dandy Kitchen Aid Stand Mixer for everything in my kitchen. Who knew that I had been missing one of the essential kitchen tools! Go Grandma!
Take a peek into my kitchen. I want to make a small batch of chocolate cookies. Use the mixer. I would like to make some whipped cream to go with that apple pie. Use the mixer. I need to mix up all my ingredients for that omelet in a jiffy! Use the hand mixer.
The Kitchen Aid Classic Hand Mixer comes with two beater arms which are inserted firmly into the base of the mixer. With just a quick click, they lock firmly into place. If you hear the click, then you know you’ve got it right. Another thing I really like is the fact that with one simple click of a button, the beater arms remove quite easily for a quick clean up.
With just a little shopping around, you can generally find your very own Kitchen Aid hand mixer for about $50. Yes, there are a lot of Kitchen Aid mixer varieties out there but there’s only one classic and it will soon be the go to appliance in your kitchen.
Although there are other mixers which are more high-tech, high speed and high priced, this five speed hand mixer can really hold its own. The way I figure it is, if you have something which needs a 12 speed hand mixer in order to blend, then it would probably be wise to invest in a stand mixer.
For the bigger kitchen baking jobs, then your stand mixer is the better choice. But the smaller jobs are better served by the smaller Classic Kitchen Aid Hand Mixer.
If you do not have a stand mixer, but attempt to handle recipes calling for large quantity mixing jobs on a regular basis, I would highly suggest that you check into a KitchenAid Stand Mixer.
So if you are in the hunt for a new hand mixer and if your hand mixer seems to be cutting corners and you are just plain tired of it, then go ahead and look into the Kitchen Aide 5 Speed Classic Plus Hand Mixer.
The open design of the beaters make clean up a cinch and the light weight of the hand held mixer makes it a joy to use. You will definitely wonder why on earth you didn’t buy one sooner.
I love my KitchenAid 5 Speed Class Plus Hand Mixer and my guess is that if you give one a try you will fall in love with it too. Happy Baking!

Kitchenaid Stand Mixer comes by its reputation honestly. Each one is assembled by hand in the U.S.A., and is made to last for years to come. If you love to cook, this mixer is a fantastic tool and will prove to be a wise investment over time.
Once you’ve decided to make your purchase, it is easy to get overwhelmed by all the options, but this doesn’t have to be the case. Here are some guidelines to consider when choosing the perfect Kitchenaid mixer for your kitchen.
STEP ONE: Do you want a “tilt-head” or “bowl-lift” mixer?
A tilt-head model works just like it sounds: the head of the mixer tilts to allow access to the bowl and beaters. This is the model most commonly used for household cooking tasks.
The bowl-lift model is better suited for jobs such as mixing thick batters and doughs. This is the type that is sometimes used for commercial purposes.
STEP TWO: What size mixer do you need?
The tilt-head models have 8 to 9 cup capacity, and the bowl-lift models have a 12 to 14 cup capacity. Take into consideration what you plan to use your mixer for, and make sure you get one that is large enough for your use.
STEP THREE: What color do you want?
Now that you’ve chosen the style and size that you need, you can choose the color you want. Kitchenaid mixers come in just about any color you desire, from boysenberry to pear to ice.
With these tips you can have fun choosing your Kitchenaid mixer, and even more fun cooking with it!

Cooking pasta at home usually means opening a box or bag of dried pasta, dumping it into some boiling water and waiting for up to 10 minutes. Why would anyone want to change this simple meal process and do it all by hand?
For several reasons actually. First in my mind is the taste. Nothing comes close to the almost melt in your mouth experience you get from homemade fresh pasta. The texture, taste and sauce combine to really elevate your dining experience, all because you took a few minutes to make it yourself. Pasta doesn’t have to be tasteless anymore.
The second reason is you can control what goes into your pasta. Do you love the taste of sun dried tomatoes or pesto or basil, well, you can add that into your own pasta as you make it. Want to use all organic ingredients? You can use organic semolina flour. You can even make your own blends of flours to use and experiment. For example, you could add some whole grain flour to increase the fiber content of the dough too.
The third reason is that homemade pasta takes less time to cook. It really is a fast food since most fresh pastas cook in only 3 minutes. Given that many boxed pastas need to be cooked 8 to 10 minutes, 3 minutes is a dream.

The KitchenAid stand mixer is one of the most popular home mixers for today’s homemakers and food connoisseurs. Making dough in a KitchenAid stand mixer is a snap and allows for quick and easy bread making at home. Using the KitchenAid mixer to make dough is fun and fast, and you’ll be tempted to make all your bread products at home yourself
Do you know that KitchenAid Mixers are multi functional and can do it all? Yes, indeed. They can mix, whip and even knead anything from light egg whites to some heavy bread dough. These mixers have ten speed solid state controls which can take care of every need from smooth stirring to high speed mixing or whipping. The Kitchen Aid mixers thoroughly blend ingredients even close to the edge of the bowl without moving the bowl itself. It has some rugged and metal exterior constructions as well as a heavy duty motor which could mean a reliable service for many years to come.
In today’s economically trying times, it may seem the wrong time to invest in new small appliances but I would ask that you look at it as an investment. When you look at the Kitchenaid mixer and compare it to the Walmart brand on original price alone, you would think to buy the knockoff. As with any investment, you need to think long term. As you replace your department store brand small appliances on regular basis the price adds up.

I also own many KitchenAid kitchen appliances, including a blender from them (at least 5 years), but not a stand mixer. I never had any problems with them, but when my sister broke a piece off hers she was able to order it easily. You can order anything, from rubber seals to a new glass jar or blades for your food processor, just with the model number. I would say overall we are pleased with their product, I cook a lot and have used mine to crush ice, and grind nuts, and other uses that can take their toll.
I have used 2 different KitchenAid mixers. The first one was a gift to my mother and I from my grandmother. After using only hand mixers through out my life, I fell in love with my kitchenaid mixer. I have since used hand mixers and other stand mixers, so NOT worth it. I love that kitchenAid mixer. Then I have a hand me down kitchenAid mixer from the mother in law it doesn’t have as big of a motor I don’t think but I still just love it. I was so glad to have a kitchenaid mixer again. The only complaint that I have is they are heavy and hard to move around, but at the same time that is why it works so well is because of the heavy base. Sorry I can’t remember to model numbers, but they both are the ones that lift up, and the bowls twist to “lock and unlock” into position. As far as the the complaints that the one lady had here is what I have to say. There is a screw on the top of the mix that will lower or raise the mixer attachment. I like the stationary bowl because I can leave the mixer going without having to hold the bowl and having it spinning all around. Both my mixers have been around for at least 10 years and are used frequently.
